QuiltWest is an annual event held by the association to showcase quilts made by our members, from beginners through to the more experienced members. All quilts submitted will be displayed.
Entry into QuiltWest 2024 opened a week ago and some people have already started completing the forms online to submit their entries. Entries will be accepted up to MIDNIGHT 31 MAY, but don’t wait until the last minute to enter your quilt. You can enter up to 4 quilts for a single fee of $20.
The QuiltWest Handbook is available on the WAQA Website and should be read by all members thinking about entering a quilt into QuiltWest.
The QuiltWest 2024 Categories this year are as follows:
1. Small Quilts: 1.1 Amateur & 1.2 Professional
2. Traditional Quilts: 2.1 Amateur & 2.2 Professional
3. Mainly Appliqué: 3.1 Amateur & 3.2 Professional
4. Modern Quilts: 4.1 Amateur & 4.2 Professional
5. Student Quilts: 5.1 Junior Section & 5.2 Senior Section
6. Pictorial Quilts: Open
7. Art Quilts: Open
8. Two Person Quilts: 8.1 Amateur Pieced & Professionally Quilted & 8.2 Professional Pieced & Professionally Quilted
9. Recycled
10. Theme: “GEOMETRY IN NATURE”: Open

Members of the QuiltWest Committee will be on hand at Sewing Day and Night on 21st May, to answer any questions you may have and help with completing the online entry forms. You can also email quiltwa@gmail.com with any queries.
